An Invitation To Worship

January 25th, 2026

Dear Church Family,

I hope this note finds you safe and warm. Because of the weather and out of care for everyone's safety, we will not be gathering in person at the church building today.

Even so, the Church is never closed. The body of Christ is alive and active wherever God's people are. That means living rooms, kitchen tables, phone calls, and video chats all count.

I want to encourage you to have church at home this morning.

Take a few moments to slow down and worship together as a family. If you can, connect with others by phone or video and share a simple time of worship and scripture.

Here is a simple way you might structure your time.

PRAYER

Begin with prayer. Thank God for His faithfulness and His care over our lives. Pray for one another, for our church family, and for peace and protection during this weather. Take a moment to humble your heart before the Lord and invite Him to speak.

WORSHIP

Spend some time worshiping Jesus. You can play worship music, sing a familiar song, or simply praise Him in your own words.

DISCOVERY BIBLE STUDY

Read Luke 18:9–14 together. If you are with others, have different people read the passage aloud. If you can, read it more than once, maybe even from different translations.

Then talk through these three questions:

  • What does this passage show you about who God is?

    • Point out specific characteristics that portray God's nature, personality, etc.

  • What does this passage teach us about people?

    • Point out specific roles or lessons from the people within the scripture.

  • How will you put what you've learned into practice this week?

    • Be specific, what can you apply to your life to be 'doers' of God's word?

After discussing the passage, I encourage each person to share one simple action they will take this week based on what God showed them.

Church family, though this weekend looks different, I believe God is inviting us to slow down and notice His presence in new ways. Let this be a time to rest in His goodness, to listen for His voice, and to care for one another.

I love you all, I am praying for you, and I am looking forward to gathering together again soon.

Grace and peace,
Larry Montgomery
Interim Senior Pastor
