Serve at Henry Christian Church
All school age children at HCC are invited to Sunday school, which occurs the same time as the weekly sermon for the congregation. Two classes meet, one for children Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and another for 4th grade and up. Both are led in age appropriate Bible lessons, while the younger group, called the Fireflies, also work on crafts and have snacks. Both classes are released from the sanctuary after offering is collected. Please be sure to check your child in for children’s church in the Living Room (entry lobby) prior to the service.
For our youngest worshippers, ages 0 to Pre-Kindergarten, HCC also has childcare services available during the service in our Nursery. If you are interested in serving in the nursery, please contact Kelly Prenn. Note that any volunteers working with children are subjected to a background check. If you are a parent with a nusery-age child, please check your child in for the nursery in the Living Room (entry lobby) prior to the service.
HCC also has a traditional youth group for 5th grade and up. Called The Furnace, it meets Sunday evenings from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Each night kicks off with a fellowship meal, followed by games, worship, and a message. In addition, the group has several outings throughout the year, and is a great opportunity for fellowship, fun, and spiritual growth.
Each Sunday morning and alternating Youth Group services are led in worship by HCC’s contemporary band. The group blends a plethora of styles, from classic hymns to current CCM radio hits, and they are always looking for passionate musicians and worshippers to lend their talents.
Compassion is a dish best served from HCC’s thriving Kitchen Ministry! Whether the occasion is mourning after a funeral, or celebrating after a wedding, HCC pools its talents to serve meals to our congregation and community throughout the year.
